My Gaming Past

I think some of you might want to know how I started gaming,
if not still gonna tell you anyways :P

It all started when I was very young, I think around 6-7 years old.
An old desktop pc and floppy's galore!

After a year my favourite game came out...
The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time
Oxy in 1997

How I LOVED that game!

My parents had bought an Nintendo 64 around that time, we used to play it with friends days on end.
All the drawings I made back then were of Zelda and Link.. my dad even made me a wooden sword, not to mention that my grandmother made Link's Kokiri Tunic for me!
I used to spend hours/days 'LARP-ing' in the local forest, like I was my own little Link in my own adventures!

My youth developed with the game, eventually a new game rised at the horizon;

The Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask.

I have made multiple collages and drawings, anxiously awaiting the release date of that game.

Then finally November 2000 was there, my parents gifted the game to me as a late Birthday present.

I was ecstatic, over the moon!! (if you pardon the pun)

So our adventure on our couch continued, into a whole new story.
I can remember having baths pretending to be a Zora just after we got the Zora's Mask and when we reached Snowhead Temple that it snowed where I lived.

I still play these games from time to time, I am definitely no expert, I do know a lot but I am most certainly not a walking/breathing OoT & MM walktrough. I love that I can replay these games without remembering every single key location. It keeps it fun to play.

Later on I kept grabbing the controllers of multiple consoles, I met my best friend Isabel. We've been best friends ever since.

She also had a weakness for playing videogames for days on end, se we got along just fine!
We even spend days in a local toyshop playing Dead or Alive 3 on the Xbox they had there.
Later on we played more and more games, we were undefeatable co-op. She had the same crazy mind as I did.

Luckily it stayed with me, the urge to lose yourself temporarily in the made up worlds of some great game developers.

I am very lucky with my family who supported and provided the games and consoles when I could not. So if any of my family members read this, thank you so much for the support in this lovely hobby!

Also I dated guys who had a weakspot for games, I don't think I could ever date someone who doesn't like games or doesn't play games.

Later on I even got a tattoo that I've wanted since young age, it was related to Ocarina of Time. When I was 18 I made the decision that I wouldn't ever regret getting that one. So I did :3

Recently, about a year and a half ago I started discovering the world of Live streaming, first via charity events in my country. After that a couple of friends founded a group called 'Gamers met een Hart' meaning 'Gamers with a heart'.

They contacted me fairly shortly after, if I could lend my graphic skills to the cause, all voluntarily because we were just a group of enthusiasts who wanted nothing more than keep the community together, game and stream together.
It became a tight group of game loving people. Besides Designer I also started my Live streamer activities here.

After a while the group re-structured into 'The Green Rupee Entertainment' with that name we hoped to be more approachable for international viewers.

Unfortunately it was just too much work for only 3 crewmember, we also had a lot of personal things that made it impossible to continue with all the hard work the community needed.

After the 2 communities withered away a lot of the streamers went solo, including me.

First on Twitch.tv but later on made the SWITCH to the (imo) better site Hitbox.TV.
Now I look forward to seeing my friends stream and chatting with them every single day!
I receive so much support and care from them that I don't think I'll be leaving anytime soon, it can only become more!

I hope you had fun reading a part of my life's story and hope to see you back at my own channel!
